    Jurgen Rateau

    Flemish by birth, has always been living in Brussels.

    manages a hosting activity and provides internet and web services
    worked on the emergence of the social web 5 years before the creation of Facebook; 35000 users were simultaneously connected on the site.
    is working on a study about urban agriculture and the relocalisation of food production to the cities.
    is a web fanatic and really interested in participatory democracy; is convinced that the city, besides economic and political aspects, is made by the habitants equipped of an internet connection.

    Miscellaneous

    has a "Window Farm" and makes bio vegetables grow in his apartment; has pushed the concept of "short cycle" to the limit by reducing it to a 3 metres distance.
    practiced airsoft and co-founded the Belgian federation for people practicing this sport
    likes iaido (japanese sabre).

     

    Marouan El Moussaoui

    born in Saint-Josse, works and lives in Schaerbeek
    studied economic, social and political sciences (UCL)
    speaks French and one of the two languages used in Marocco (amazigh); knows the basics of Dutch and English.

    founding member of the Belgian Pirate Party (PPBe).
    founding member of the Moroccan Pirate Party (work in progress)
    sort of engineer of the Party, works in the store room, looks after the machinery  and helps the captains to read and/or write the maps.

    Stéphane Vanbellinghen

    born in Liège where he is still living.
    studied modern languages (English, Spanish and German) during his general education in Liège; half Belgian half Italian, he also speaks Dante's language fluently
    studied real-estate management.
    Fan of informatics technologies, he also followed a training of network administration Cisco at the Technothèque.

    Co-president of the Belgian Pirate Party (PPBe) and coordinator of the PP section in Liège
    His passion for technologies and law made him join the Belgian Pirate Party in November 2009 with the hope of making the society evolve in a positive way, taking into account the evolutions and realities of the XXI century.

    Experience

    began his career as traineeship in the field of real-estate business.
    is now working as real-estate agent, especially in the field of rental management and real-estate promotion.
    has been militating for some years in favour of free software and the use of open standards.
    dealt with the introduction and initiation to Ubuntu in the "Association des locataires du Complexe social de Droixhe".
    is a voluntary helper for the association named "Opération Thermos Liège", providing homeless people with meals and accommodation in winter.
    deals with the maintenance and management of collaborative websites in the field of martial arts.
    is experimenting biologic vegetable planting with his girlfriend and a friend, now they have found a piece of land on the outskirts of the city.

    Miscellaneous

    has been practicing Japanese martial arts since he's 12 year old.
    is a certified Sobudo instructor of the Takeda ryu Nakamura ha School. This school teaches a bunch of martial arts, notably the handling of traditional Japanese weapons.
    is a cinema lover ; especially the so-called kengeki (Japanese sabre films) and science-fiction films.

     

    Monika Kornacka

    born in Poland, has been living in Belgium for more than 2 decades
    studied languages, modern literatures and linguistics
    is currently following a course in human resources
    speaks Polish, French and English and knows the basics of Dutch and Russian.
    thinks that curiosity allows to discover the world
    believes that technology by chaning the modern society, forces us to rethink our habits and ways of living

    a 10 year professional experience in the field of IT training that allows to combine in her job her passion for new technologies and the will to transmit this knowledge to other people.
    helped to set up a "made in Belgium" virtual social community, an early Facebook like precursor; 35000 users were simultaneously connected on the site.
      organised sevral parties where this community members could meet; about 5 000 persons attended the most important gathering

    her passion for localism and sustainable consumption led her to participate in the creation of a GASAP in Brussels area
    regularly searches for shops, cooking courses and other initiatives encouraging local and bio products, and intends to launch, with a friend, a "locavore" guide of Brussels.
