The Pirate Party of Berlin made a grand entrance to the regional parliament with an exceptional score of
9 %, worth 15 seats.
They concluded an alliance with the Social Democrats (SDP), the Greens (Grüne), the Christian-democrats (CDU) and the Left party (Linke). The Chancellor's liberal party (FDP) lost all its seats in Berlin with a score of 1.8%.
This success opens the way to the Bundestag for the Pirate Party of Germany.
It's a huge victory not only for German pirates but also for the whole international pirate movement. It confirms the seriousness of the pirate agenda and the growing influence of the pirate movement on the political scene.
